Safety without compromise:

The top criteria for the development of the units was to ensure the safety of the units under all operation conditions. This was verified through independent testing by independent accredited institutions (such as C-Mark, Netherlands) considering applicable to CE standards.

The units further conform to OeNorm M5879-4 „Requirements of chlorination equipment for water treatment“, particularly considering section 4: Electro-chemical processes for the production on site of disinfecting chlorine compounds.

In Germany the safety requirements laid out by the GUV (Gemeindeunfallversicherungsverband) Nordrhein-Westfalen have been respected.

The NSF approval is also in preparation.

• Safety is first of all increased by operating the units de-pressurized. The cell and the other components are generally working under vacuum but nowhere under pressure which minimized breakage and wear.

• Further multiple safety features are installed in the WAPOTEC® ZilvoldHF Electrolysis units to control all relevant checkpoints through a microprocessor controlled PLC.

• The double shell design of the cell block with integrated cooling offers maximized safety, enable a production on a high production level without overheating and potential damage for the cell. It further eliminates leakage risks.

• The hydrogen formed is directly released to the open air, avoiding any contact with air inside the building.

An adequate plant room ventilation and chlorine gas detection sensor can create additional safety precautions for the operation.
